“I know I have lived when I have told you my story.”
Spalding Grey

I have recently founded a reading series, So True: Life stories, well written, well told, so my long-term students can take their best work to the next level – out to an audience. The event is held at the Black Swan on the Danforth three times a year, the last Sunday of February, May and October, to coincide with my teaching terms. More information on our website

I work privately on an hourly basis as an editor and as a mentor
or writing coach, mostly through the Internet or in my home. I
help with editing, preparing a manuscript, recharging. I can also help get you set up and launched.

Of the students who have gone on working with me, a number have had
pieces published in magazines and newspapers. Several have appeared
in story anthologies or have self-published books. Longtime student
Margaret Norquay’s first book, Broad is the Way, was published by Wilfred Laurier University Press in 2007, when Margaret was 86.

I would be happy to hear from you. Please see the Contact page for my email and addresses.

Once a month during the summer, I run “Write in the Garden” workshops, one day intense write-on-the-spot gatherings in my long and lush backyard. For notes from writers who have attended, click here
