The Writers' Union of Canada
TWUC Publishing Workshop at the INSPIRE! The Toronto International Book Fair
 – PASS IT ON!

The Publishing 2.0 – Tips and Traps workshop has been successfully presented in cities across the country in 2014 and is returning to Toronto on Friday, November 14 at the INSPIRE! Toronto International Book Fair at the Metro Convention Centre.

Whether you are an established, emerging, or aspiring writer, the ever-changing publishing landscape can be daunting. The Publishing 2.0 – Tips and Traps workshop is packed with information about the traditional path to getting published along with the widening and diversifying self-publishing path to publication.

Authors Mary W. Walters and Caroline Adderson, and author and executive director of The Writers’ Union of Canada, John Degen will cover topics such as working with agents and editors, keys to successful submissions, crowdsourcing, contract terms, royalty rates, copyright, managing your digital rights, design work, distribution, and promotion.

The workshop starts at 9:30 am and ends at 4:00 pm with time at lunch for you to enjoy the Toronto International Book Fair.

ALSO: CBC is requesting true stories about belonging. I’m sure we all have one of those. Prize $1000!

ALSO – what a busy day! – here’s a beautiful story by longtime student and friend Ruth Miller in the most recent Canadian Jewish News. She wrote it for us awhile ago; thrilling to see it in print. (Scroll to page 7.)
