The garden is fading, but still bright.

John, my dear friend and handyman and a fellow scavenger, found a bike post in the street, and here he is installing it in my front yard. Now I don’t need to have two bikes parked against the piano in the living-room. He also pruned the 12 foot high oleander and helped me bring it in, replaced a few of the ridiculously fiddly pot lights in the kitchen, figured out that the light switch in the fridge is indeed dysfunctional – in fact, broken – and fifteen other things on the endless list. I could not survive in this house without him.
